Registration Time: If this is a morning course registration time is 08:15am for 08.30am start. If this is an afternoon course registration time is 12.45pm for 13.00pm start. If the course is at Evolve please note our office does not open until 8am. Duration: Half Day. Extra Information: Delegates should be aware that this course contains a practical element. If any delegates have special requirements e.g. wheelchair access, reading or writing difficulty, please let us know in order for us to provide an appropriate classroom or arrange assistance for written exercises. Delegates should have a basic understanding of the English language. Name changes are accepted up until the commencement of the course. Course Agenda

The Abrasive Wheels half-day training course begins with an introduction to the various types and characteristics of abrasive wheels, followed by an overview of the legislation and regulations governing their use, including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 PUWER. We then delve into the safety aspects of using abrasive wheels, discussing hazards and precautions to prevent accidents. This is followed by instruction on proper handling and storage of abrasive wheels for longevity and safe use.

Participants will receive hands-on training on inspecting and testing abrasive wheels before use, as well as learning the correct methods for assembling, balancing, and dressing the wheels. The course concludes with a practical demonstration and participant practice session, allowing attendees to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned. The course duration is a half day, with ample time for questions and discussion.

Additional elements of the course may include a section on identifying and reporting defects in abrasive wheels, as well as proper personal protective equipment PPE to be worn when working with abrasive wheels. The course may also cover the importance of risk assessments and safe working practices when using abrasive wheels. Participants may also learn about the maintenance and care of equipment used with abrasive wheels, such as grinders and cut-off machines.

The course may also include a section on emergency procedures and first aid for accidents involving abrasive wheels. Participants may learn how to safely stop and isolate equipment in case of an emergency, as well as proper first aid techniques for injuries caused by abrasive wheels. The course may also cover the importance of regular training and refresher courses for employees who work with abrasive wheels.

Morning courses starts at 8:30am and afternoon courses start at 1.00pm. As this is a half day course, lunch is not provided. Delegates will receive 1 x 10 minute break.

If youre arriving by public transport, were just 15 minutes from Dyce Train Station and a quick 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop. To find us, head west on Auchmill Road from the A96. Continue straight onto the A96, passing through one roundabout. Keep right to stay on the A96, then turn right onto Dyce Drive. Next, take another right onto Wellheads Drive, and finally, turn right onto Wellheads Crescent. Youll spot The Training Centre on your right. We look forward to welcoming you!
