Who Should Attend?

This 2 to 3 hr course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency first aid skills, or who takes part in an organised first aid scheme. For health care workers, this course serves as a basic module. Previous first aid experience is recommended but not essential on most courses.

Joining Instructions

Specific AED Automated External Defibrillation joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Contact numbers and ways to get in touch will be provided.

Course Agenda

The course will cover the treatment of an unconscious casualty, including resuscitation techniques and how to recognize and respond to heart attacks. Participants will also learn how to operate an AED and manage emergency situations effectively. Communication and proper care for the casualty will also be emphasized. ##$$##The course will also cover the proper response to chest pains and how to effectively use any type of AED. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the AED and practice operating it. They will also learn how to treat an unconscious casualty and perform CPR. ##$$##In addition to these skills, the course will also cover the importance of quick and effective action in emergency situations. Participants will learn how to assess the situation and respond accordingly, as well as how to work as a team to provide the best care for the casualty. ##$$##The course will provide practical and hands-on training, allowing participants to gain confidence and proficiency in using an AED. They will also learn about the legal implications of using an AED and how to properly document and report an emergency situation. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently respond to emergency situations involving an AED. ##$$##.

Training Venue

From the MS, J18 Exit the M5 at Junction 18 and join onto the A4 following signs for Bristol City Centre. Continue along under the Clifton Suspension Bridge. When the road splits take the right-hand lane to go over the flyover. After the traffic lights take the first left onto Coronation Road. Just before reaching the pelican crossing take a right onto Greenway Bush Lane and then left into Upton Road. Take the next right into Raleigh Road. St John Ambulance Training Centre is on the right-hand side of the road. From the M4, J19 Exit the M4 at Junction 19 and join the M32 towards Bristol City Centre. Follow the signs for Bristol Airport (A38) and you should pass Temple Meads station. Continue following the signs for Bristol Airport (A38) onto York Road. At the end of York Road continue straight over the roundabout onto Coronation Road. About 400 yards after the pelican crossing turn left into Beauley Road and then take the next right onto Raleigh Road. St John Ambulance Training Centre is on the right-hand side of the road. .

Accreditation
