Course Information

This course teaches the essential skills required by an AED operator and gives students the confidence to know what to do in this kind of emergency. 

Who Should Attend?

This 2 to 3 hr course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency first aid skills, or who takes part in an organised first aid scheme. For health care workers, this course serves as a basic module. Previous first aid experience is recommended but not essential on most courses.

Joining Instructions

Specific Automated External Defibrillation (AED) joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Contact numbers and ways to get in touch will be provided.

Course Agenda

The course will cover the treatment of an unconscious casualty, including resuscitation techniques and how to recognize and respond to heart attacks. Participants will also learn how to operate an AED and manage emergency situations effectively. Communication and proper care for the casualty will also be emphasized.

The course will also cover the proper response to chest pains and how to effectively use any type of AED. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the AED and practice operating it. They will also learn how to treat an unconscious casualty and perform CPR.

In addition to these skills, the course will also cover the importance of quick and effective action in emergency situations. Participants will learn how to assess the situation and respond accordingly, as well as how to work as a team to provide the best care for the casualty.

The course will provide practical and hands-on training, allowing participants to gain confidence and proficiency in using an AED. They will also learn about the legal implications of using an AED and how to properly document and report an emergency situation. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently respond to emergency situations involving an AED.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Dundee! Getting here is straightforward. If youre coming from the A90, head northeast on Kingsway W/A90 and take the B960 exit towards the City Centre. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Clepington Road. A quick right onto Johnston Avenue will lead you straight onto Brantwood Avenue. Continue along Loons Road, then turn left onto Lawside Road. After a left onto Albany Terrace and a right onto Inverlaw Place, youll find Dudhope Terrace ahead. A right onto Infirmary Brae, followed by Barrack Road, will bring you to a sharp right turn, and The Training Centre will be on your right. Safe travels!

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the Automated External Defibrillation AED training course, candidates will receive a certificate of achievement. This certificate is accredited by the First Aid Industry Body FAIB and is recognized by employers and regulatory bodies.
