Who Should Attend?

This 2 to 3 hr course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency first aid skills, or who takes part in an organised first aid scheme. For health care workers, this course serves as a basic module. Previous first aid experience is recommended but not essential on most courses.

Course Agenda

The course will cover the treatment of an unconscious casualty, including resuscitation techniques and how to recognize and respond to heart attacks. Participants will also learn how to operate an AED and manage emergency situations effectively. Communication and proper care for the casualty will also be emphasized.

The course will also cover the proper response to chest pains and how to effectively use any type of AED. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the AED and practice operating it. They will also learn how to treat an unconscious casualty and perform CPR.

In addition to these skills, the course will also cover the importance of quick and effective action in emergency situations. Participants will learn how to assess the situation and respond accordingly, as well as how to work as a team to provide the best care for the casualty.

The course will provide practical and hands-on training, allowing participants to gain confidence and proficiency in using an AED. They will also learn about the legal implications of using an AED and how to properly document and report an emergency situation. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently respond to emergency situations involving an AED.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Colchester! Getting here is a breeze. If youre coming from the A12, simply head southwest and take the A1124 exit towards Halstead/Stanway. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the A12 ramp. Merge onto the A12, and at junction 27, take the A133 exit towards Colchester. Follow the A133, and at the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Colne Bank Avenue. Continue onto Cowdray Avenue, then St Andrews Avenue. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Harwich Road, turn left onto Greenstead Road, and youll find The Training Centre on your right. Safe travels!
