Who Should Attend?

This 2 to 3 hr course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency first aid skills, or who takes part in an organised first aid scheme. For health care workers, this course serves as a basic module. Previous first aid experience is recommended but not essential on most courses.

Course Agenda

The course will cover the treatment of an unconscious casualty, including resuscitation techniques and how to recognize and respond to heart attacks. Participants will also learn how to operate an AED and manage emergency situations effectively. Communication and proper care for the casualty will also be emphasized.

The course will also cover the proper response to chest pains and how to effectively use any type of AED. Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with the AED and practice operating it. They will also learn how to treat an unconscious casualty and perform CPR.

In addition to these skills, the course will also cover the importance of quick and effective action in emergency situations. Participants will learn how to assess the situation and respond accordingly, as well as how to work as a team to provide the best care for the casualty.

The course will provide practical and hands-on training, allowing participants to gain confidence and proficiency in using an AED. They will also learn about the legal implications of using an AED and how to properly document and report an emergency situation. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently respond to emergency situations involving an AED.

Welcome to the Peterborough Training Centre! Located in the heart of Peterborough, our venue is easily accessible from the A1M and A47, making it convenient for those travelling from nearby cities such as Nottingham and Leicester. To reach us from the A1M, simply head northwest at Blyth Interchange and take the 4th exit onto Bawtry Rd/A614. Continue on A614 and at Blyth Interchange, take the 3rd exit onto the A1 ramp to Newark/Nottingham/A614. From there, continue onto A1 and take the A47 exit towards Peterborough/Leicester. Once you reach the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A47 and then take the A1260 ramp to Peterborough. At Thorpe Wood Interchange, take the 3rd exit onto Nene Pkwy/A1260. At junction 33, take the A1179 exit to the city centre. From there, simply follow the signs to the Longthorpe Pkwy/A1179 and then onto Thorpe Rd/A1179. At Queensgate Roundabout, take the 4th exit onto A15 and then turn left onto Priestgate. Our training centre will be on your left.
