Course Agenda

The Basic Life Support training course covers essential skills for responding to emergency situations. Participants will learn the theory of resuscitation, including the importance of early recognition and intervention. They will also learn how to effectively manage an incident and prioritize care.

The course will cover the basics of Basic Life Support, including the ABCs of resuscitation airway, breathing, circulation. Participants will learn how to perform chest compressions, rescue breathing, and use an automated external defibrillator AED. They will also learn how to recognize and respond to choking and cardiac arrest.

In addition to hands-on skills, the course will also cover the recovery position. This is an important technique for safely positioning an unconscious person to maintain an open airway and prevent choking. Participants will learn when and how to use the recovery position in different emergency scenarios.

Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills in realistic scenarios. This will help them gain confidence and proficiency in performing Basic Life Support techniques. The course will also cover important legal and ethical considerations, as well as how to effectively communicate and work as a team in an emergency situation.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Edinburgh! Getting here is straightforward. If youre coming from the A720, head east on The City of Edinburgh Bypass. Take the A701 exit towards the City Centre, and at Straiton Junction, take the 4th exit onto Straiton Road. Continue straight and turn left onto the Bypass again, heading towards Forth Road Bridge. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A8 ramp. Merge onto Glasgow Road, then turn left onto Maybury Road.
