Course Agenda

This course focuses on the topics which have been advised by the Early Years Foundation Stage. The full course content is: The roles and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider Required first aid equipment Incident reporting Scene, primary and secondary surveys (assessing the incident) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) The recovery position Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Choking and abdominal thrusts Treatment of wounds Shock Anaphylaxis.

Accreditation

All learners will receive a Paediatric First Aid Handbook. Successful candidates will earn a certificate for completing the Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid QCF training course. This qualification is valid for 3 years, with annual refreshers recommended.
