Who Should Attend?

This qualification is suitable for staff who have successfully completed a First aid at Work course within the last 3 years and would like to renew their qualification. You must hold a current First Aid at Work certificate.

Joining Instructions

All delegates must have completed an First Aid at Work within 3 years prior to this course.

Course Agenda

Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider Prevent cross-infection through effective hygiene practices Access an incident Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking Manage a casualty with external bleeding Manage a casualty who is in shock Manage a casualty with a minor injury Deal with minor burns and scalds Manage the first aid supplies at their organisation Administer first aid to casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including spinal injuries Administer first aid to casualty with chest injuries, poisoning, and anaphylactic shock Recognise the presence of major illness and provide effective first aid including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, and diabetes Place pads and follow instructions of an AED unit.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Wimborne! Nestled in a charming town, this venue is easily accessible. To get here, simply take the A31 and exit towards Wimborne Minster. Follow the signs leading to the town centre, then turn onto Station Road. Keep going until you reach the lovely Riverside Park. Once you arrive, enjoy complimentary refreshments including tea, coffee, fruit, and biscuits. Plus, lunch is provided, so do let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the First Aid at Work 2 day Refresher training course, candidates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate that is valid for three years. This certificate is recognized by the Health and Safety Executive HSE and meets the requirements for workplace first aiders.

To ensure that first aid skills remain up-to-date and effective, we recommend completing an annual update of your first aid skills. This is in line with HSE recommendations and best practice. Our refresher course provides a comprehensive review of first aid techniques and procedures.
