Course Information

The course aims to update and refresh a previously qualified first aider who has already taken the 3 days course. This 2 day refresher is required every 3 years, though it is recommended that a yearly renewal should be considered. More than 4000 open / public courses available

Specific First Aid at Work (2 day Refresher) joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Course Agenda

The First Aid at Work 2 day Refresher training course is designed to refresh and update participants first aid skills for the workplace. This course covers a range of topics including administering first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles, and joints, suspected spinal injuries, chest injuries, eye injuries, sudden poisoning, and anaphylactic shock.

Participants will learn how to properly assess and manage these types of injuries, as well as how to provide effective first aid treatments. The course will also cover the use of first aid equipment and how to handle emergency situations in the workplace.

The course will be delivered over two days and will include a combination of theory and practical sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills in simulated scenarios, allowing them to gain confidence and experience in providing first aid in a safe and controlled environment.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate that is valid for three years. This course is suitable for those who have previously completed a First Aid at Work course and are looking to refresh their knowledge and skills. It is also ideal for those who work in high-risk environments or have a duty to provide first aid in the workplace. Welcome to The Training Centre in Aberdeen! Getting here is straightforward. From the A90, head south on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. Take the ramp towards Inverness and merge onto Chapel of Stoneywood-Fairley Road. At Craibstone Roundabout, take the third exit onto the A96. Continue straight through Bucksburn and Kittybrewster Roundabouts, staying on the A96. Turn left onto Powis Place, then take the second exit at the next roundabout onto W N Street. A right turn onto King Street leads you to Marischal Street, where youll turn left onto Regent Quay. The Training Centre will be on your left. Safe travels!

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the First Aid at Work 2 day Refresher training course, candidates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate that is valid for three years. This certificate is recognized by the Health and Safety Executive HSE and meets the requirements for workplace first aiders.

To ensure that first aid skills remain up-to-date and effective, we recommend completing an annual update of your first aid skills. This is in line with HSE recommendations and best practice. Our refresher course provides a comprehensive review of first aid techniques and procedures.

Having a valid First Aid at Work certificate demonstrates that an individual is equipped with the necessary skills to provide first aid in the workplace. This not only ensures the safety and well-being of employees, but also meets legal requirements and promotes a positive safety culture within the organization.
