Joining Instructions

Delegate Information/Prerequisites Delegates need to bring their Date of Birth. Delegates are required to bring with them to the first day of the course photographic ID, i.e. a Travel Passport or Driving Licence. Delegates who do not have either of these forms of identification must contact prior to the first day of the course. Delegates need to be physically fit enough to complete the practical elements of the course. Must have a good understanding of speaking, reading/writing the English language

Course Content The roles and responsibilities of a First Aider How to assess an incident How to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty, including: o CPR o AEDs o recovery position o seizures How to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking How to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding How to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock How to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries, including: o small cuts o grazes o bruises o small splinters o minor burns and scalds How to conduct a secondary survey How to provide first aid to a casualty with: o suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints o suspected head and spinal injuries o suspected chest injuries o burns and scolds o an eye injury o sudden poisoning o anaphylaxis o suspected major illness.
