Course Agenda

All courses start at our venues at 09.30 ending 16.30 each day. The following HSE required programme is covered: understand the role of the first-aider, including reference to: the importance of preventing cross-infection; the need for recording incidents and actions; use of available equipment; assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency; administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure); administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of an automated external defibrillator; administer first aid to a casualty who is choking; administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding; administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock; provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters). PLUS administer first aid to a casualty with: inj.

09.30 to 16.30 with 30 minute lunch break at 12.30 to 13.00 and two 15 minute comfort breaks am and pm.

Accreditation

The First Aid At Work FAW training course is accredited by XYZ Training Group Ltd, a trusted provider for over 15 years. Successful candidates will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years, demonstrating their knowledge and skills in first aid. ##$$##This course is highly recommended for individuals working in high-risk environments and for companies who prioritize the safety and well-being of their employees. ##$$##The FAW training course covers a wide range of first aid techniques, including CPR, wound care, and treatment for common injuries and illnesses. It also includes practical exercises and scenarios to ensure candidates are prepared to handle real-life emergency situations..

Yes, final practical exams followed by final multi-choice exam of 47 questions. . All students are required to be pyhsically able to perform the required practical elements at floor level, including giving CPR to a training manikin, treating injuries and wounds on self, others and training manikins, and be able to pass the final exam at 80% or higher, with final verbal questioning by examiner if not gained 100% final test mark. Those scoring below 80% will be required to sit the entire course again. Feedback will be given to support learners not gaining the required National Occupational Standard for a workplace first aider.
