Course Information

FIRST AID AT WORK LEVEL 3 Attending First Aid At Work training course is the first step in gaining the necessary knowledge and skills to prepared you for an unfortunate situation should arise. This First Aid At Work training course will not make you a doctor, a nurse or a paramedic, but it will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to save a life as a qualified First Aider. Who Should Attend?

The qualification is available to candidates aged 14 or over but a candidate is unable to act as a First Aider in the workplace until they reach the age of 16. Due to the practical nature of the first aid assessment there are physical demands and candidates must be able to demonstrate their skills as in a real-life situation. An example of this would be to demonstrate CPR on a manikin at floor level. It is recommended that candidates should hold a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or equivalent to undertake this qualification. It may be possible to allocate a reasonable adjustment to a candidate who has a disability, medical condition or learning need; learners should contact us to discuss.

Joining Instructions

Specific First Aid At Work Level 3 joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Contact numbers and ways to get in touch will be provided.

Course Agenda

The content of the course will cover how to deal with the following: The role of the First Aider Managing an emergency Communication and casualty care Asthma Bleeding (minor and severe) Bone, muscle and joint injuries Burns and scalds Chest pains (including heart attack) Choking (adult and babies) Eye injuries Fainting Defibrillator prompts and how to respond Head injuries Health and safety (first aid) regulations Low blood sugar Poisoning Resuscitation (adult CPR) Seizures Severe allergic reaction Shock Spinal injuries Stroke Unresponsive casualty Defibrillator pad placement.

8am till 5pm (1hr lunch)

Training Venue

We are on the first floor of the building, there is a lift to get up to the first floor.. Drink will be provided after test is completed due to the strict regulations of the face fit test.

Accreditation

The First Aid At Work FAW training course is accredited by XYZ Training Group Ltd, a trusted provider for over 15 years. ASSESSMENT INFORMATION The qualification is assessed by a written assessment. Candidate must successfully pass the written assessment to achieve the qualification. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred. The candidate will complete a written assessment paper containing 20 open and multiple choice questions needing to achieve a minimum of 15 out of 20 to pass. The duration of the assessment is 30 minutes..
