Please advise of any dietary requirements 24hrs in advance. Extra Information: If any delegates have special requirements e.g. wheelchair access, reading or writing difficulty, please let us know in order for us to provide an appropriate classroom or arrange assistance for written exercises. Course Agenda
Introducing Managing Safely, participants will learn about the importance of managing health and safety in the workplace. This includes understanding the legal requirements and the benefits of having a safe and healthy workplace. They will also be introduced to the IOSH family of training courses.
Assessing risks is a key part of the IOSH Managing Safely training course. Participants will learn how to identify potential risks and hazards in the workplace, and how to assess their likelihood and severity. They will also learn how to prioritize risks and take appropriate actions to control them.
Understanding your responsibilities is crucial for managing health and safety effectively. Participants will learn about their legal responsibilities as well as their moral and ethical obligations towards their employees, customers, and the environment. This includes understanding the importance of communication and consultation with all stakeholders.
The course also covers topics such as identifying hazards, investigating accidents and incidents, and measuring performance. Participants will learn how to proactively identify hazards and take necessary actions to eliminate or control them. They will also learn how to conduct thorough investigations to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Additionally, they will learn how to measure and monitor their health and safety performance to continuously improve their practices.
Protecting our environment is another important aspect of the IOSH Managing Safely training course. Participants will learn about the impact of their actions on the environment and how to minimize any potential harm. They will also learn about sustainable practices and how to incorporate them into their daily operations. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to effectively manage health and safety in their workplace and protect both their employees and the environment..
8:30am - 4:00pm (approx.) - finishing times can vary depending on the class. 30 minutes for lunch and 2 x 10 minute breaks.

Accreditation
The IOSH Managing Safely training course is accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health IOSH. Successful candidates will receive a nationally recognized certificate upon completion.
The course includes a 45-minute written paper with 20 multi-format questions, as well as a practical risk assessment project. These assessments are designed to evaluate delegates understanding of basic health and safety.
By attending and passing the IOSH Managing Safely training course, candidates will gain a valuable qualification that demonstrates their knowledge and skills in managing health and safety in the workplace. A written assessment and practical risk assessment will be undertaken at the end of the course.. 50% or more must be achieved in both with an aggregate of 70% overall to be achieved to entitle the candidate to receive a Managing Safely certificate issued by IOSH.
