Course Information

This one day course instructs an operator how to prepare and safely operate Mobile Vertical lifts (Scissor Lifts) and Mobile Booms (Cherry Pickers).It is a mixture of theory and practice, with a written and a practical test. Course material is available in many languages and training centres receive regular updates. Successful trainees receive a PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), a safety guide, a log book and a certificate.Course fee Includes IPAF registration, smart PAL card and lunch....

Who Should Attend?

Any person who requires the need to be trained in IPAF Operator: 3a & 3b through the course of their normal working duties. This course is suitable for anyone working in the arena or sector.

Joining Instructions

All trainees should arrive with safety boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat and a full body harness with adjustable lanyard (NB: IPAF approved harness kits are available for purchase at 25% discount with all bookings). Please also ensure all trainees arrive with suitable clothing for outdoors practical element.

Course Agenda

1) Introduction 2) Pre-theory test 3) MEWP categories 4) Structural Parts 5) Regulations 6) Pre-use inspection/handover 7) Safe operating methods & hazards 8) Theory test 9) Practical training 10) Practical assessment.

This course starts at 8am and finishes by 4pm with lunch served at midday. Refreshment breaks are also scheduled throughout the day.

Welcome to The Training Centre in Reading! Were excited to have you join us for your upcoming training. To reach us, simply head west from the A329M and take the M4 exit towards South Wales/Reading/Newbury. At junction 12, follow the A4 exit to Theale/Reading. Continue on Bath Rd/A4, taking the first exit at the roundabout, then the first exit at the next roundabout onto Basingstoke Rd/A340. After a right turn and a left onto a restricted usage road, youll find The Training Centre on your right. Please remember to bring your own food and drink, as lunch will not be provided.
