The ATAS Course is aimed at new training instructors early in their careers, as well as professionals such as team leaders, supervisors, managers, and those in human resources or educational roles who seek to enhance their skills in observation, assessment, and feedback handling to become effective and empathetic trainers.
Course Agenda
Week 1 Orientation and Initial Observation Planning. Candidates are introduced to course objectives, expectations, and assessment criteria. Planning phase includes identifying up to six colleagues from different roles to observe over coming weeks. Scheduling dates for observations and obtaining consent from participants. Familiarization with observation and feedback tools.
Week 2-3 Conducting Observations and Initial Feedback Collection. Candidates conduct planned observations, spending one to two days with each selected colleague. Focus on understanding job functions and workplace dynamics while taking detailed notes. Feedback questionnaires distributed to observed colleagues, covering aspects such as job perception, satisfaction, motivations, and experience of observational process. Gathering primary data for subsequent analysis and improvement.
Week 4-5 Feedback Analysis and Interview Sessions. Shift to collecting and analysing feedback received from questionnaires. One-on-one interviews with each observed colleague to delve deeper into questionnaire responses. Practise remaining unemotive and professional while handling feedback, learning to empathize with colleagues viewpoints.
